1 Peter 2:20-21 KJV For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. [21] For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
It should not surprise us that the world will persecute us as Christians. Jesus suffered at the hands of the world. It cannot be surprising if we suffer at the hands of the world. This world is not friend of grace. The world wants to live as if there is no God to be accountable to. When you and I live for God, it reminds them that God exists and they are accountable to Him. God has called to follow the example of Christ and live for Him. This calling will bring the persecution of the world. Let’s keep our eyes on the Lord and serve Him.
